GOOGLE ADWORDS MANAGEMENT
Note: They call it Google Ads now—but most folks still search for AdWords 🙂
Pay Per Click (PPC) is an incredibly powerful tool for growing your business. It works across all industries and products, from small companies to large. Given how prospects search for products and services today, PPC management is a critical component of your marketing strategy.
The problem is that most small to midsize companies don’t do it correctly, leading to sub-par results or unprofitable campaigns. Chances are you don’t build your own car or home. Unless you’re an expert, the results would be disastrous. AdWords is no different. While Google makes it seem very easy and even offers “help” from their staff, the reality is that AdWords campaigns can rapidly become a failing money pit if not handled with care. Most companies who say “AdWords doesn’t work” have had this experience. Most of the time two basic fixes could have made the difference.
WHY SHOULD I USE ADWORDS MANAGEMENT SERVICES?
There are numerous ways to do it wrong. Fortunately, there is a very clear set of best-practices that drastically minimize your risk and allow a profitable campaign to be built safely.

YOU NEED A LANDING PAGE
This is work focused on making a website more easily readable and accessible to search engines like Google. Much of this is dealing with the actual website code and how well it is optimized, as well as the server environment that the website is hosted in.
Your “page speed” is an example of a metric that is considered here. If you’ve done an automated site audit, most of the “issues” uncovered by those are fixed with technical SEO.

TECHNICAL SEO
This is work focused on the actual content on the website. The primary focus here is what keywords the content is optimized for, and what kind of “user-experience” it provides for site visitors. A typical SEO strategy here is to find the right mix of high-volume (top-of-funnel) and low-volume buyer intent (bottom-of-funnel) keywords to draw in relevant website traffic from organic search.
For local businesses, the marketing strategy includes drawing organic traffic from local search terms, to get top rankings in both “regular” Google searches and “map” results. This is commonly referred to as “Local SEO.”

THE SEARCH ENGINES ARE AGAINST YOU
This is where much of the confusion and controversy exists. Off-site SEO is concerned with links to your site from other websites. You might have heard about white hat SEO vs black hat SEO. This primarily refers to the quality of links your site gets and how you acquire them.
Building links is a tactic that is technically against Google’s search engine rankings guidelines, and if you do so in certain ways Google will penalize your website and potentially even drop you from the search results completely.

FACEBOOK ADS MANAGEMENT
Facebook Ads can be a great tool for small business owners to reach new customers. But be wary—if you have not tried Facebook advertising before, it’s a very different ad model. You can run up a huge ad spend bill with no results to show for it if you’re not careful. As with all digital marketing today, your best bet is to work with an experienced company with a track record of delivering a return on investment.
IS THIS JUST HAVING A SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING STRATEGY?
Facebook Ads is part of your overall social media strategy. Posting and sharing content would be another part. Both are important, but are very different—and they are often confused.
Depending on your business, your customers may or may not be looking to engage with you on social media. Some companies may find potential customers by building brand awareness through posts of other content. However, Facebook frequently changes their newsfeed algorithms and getting any traction with Facebook is more and more a pay-to-play environment similar to other PPC platforms like Google AdWords (now Google Ads).
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED
The first thing you need is a professional Facebook page set up along with an ads account. You’re also going to need to have a payment method for ad spend to set up in your Facebook Business Manager. Finally, you’ll need to have the Facebook pixel installed on your website. This will allow you to set up some types of “custom audiences” to enable you to reach your target audience and track overall campaign performance.
WHY SHOULD I USE FACEBOOK AD MANAGEMENT SERVICES?
You should hire Facebook marketing experts for the same reason you don’t install your own roof (unless you’re a roofer). Unless you have the know how to create successful campaigns and have experience running social ads, chances are you’re not going to do it well.
Creating Facebook ad campaigns requires significant expertise you likely will not have in-house. Ad creation involves knowing where to start with image ads or video ads, and how to test them for performance. This involves split-testing ad copy, creating new ads, testing different lookalike audiences, breaking off successful ads into new ad sets, and much more. Your Facebook Ads manager must be adept in all of these things.
